The Rules of Professional Conduct (RPC) are rules or standards to which all lawyers are required to adhere. They are established by the Washington Supreme Court. RPC 1.5 (b) states that the scope of representation and the basis or rate of fee and expenses for which the client will be responsible, shall be communicated to the client, preferably in writing, before or within a reasonable time after commencing the representation except when the lawyer will charge a regularly represented client on the same basis or rate as previously established. Each of the lawyers at Linville Law Firm PLLC has developed a sample Fee Agreement (Larry Linville) which the client is asked to review and sign so that both the lawyer and the client are on the same proverbial page.
